Scientific research Tungsten Halogen lamp is a fully featured, 150 to 450 W source of NIR, visible radiation. It is small, bright filament make it ideal for illumination of small targets. They are near blackbody sources of light with fused silica envelopes around the tungsten filaments and a small quantity of an active halogen gas such as Bromine.
They reach 95 % of final output within 15 minutes or less of starting. They provides very stable and smooth spectral output so it can be applied to spectroscopic measurements (transmittance/reflectance/absorption) and color measurements. The dominant spectrum is from 300nm to 2600nm depending on the color temperature of each lamp (due to the deep absorption band and the natural transmittance of the fused silica envelopes, the IR range is limited to 2.6µm).
They are made with rated wattages from 150 to 450 wattages and are available for operation in a vertical position.
