Calibrated InGaAs detectors are semiconductor light sensors that generate a current or voltage when the P-N junc-tion in the semiconductor is illuminated by light. The term photodiode can be broadly defined to include even solar batteries, but it usually refers to sensors used to detect the intensity of light.
◆ Excellent linearity with respect to incident light
◆ Low noise & Long life
◆ Wide spectral response range
◆ Mechanically rugged
◆ Compact and lightweight
InGaAs photodiodes are sensitive in the near infrared spectrum from 800 to 1700 nm. They have a PIN structure that results in fast zero bias Rise / Fall times.
